Carrefour Thailand was firstly opened in 1996 on Sukhapiban 3 Rd.
with a Capital investment of 10 Billion Baths. Today Carrefour has 30 stores nationwide
and more than 7,000 employees in Thailand; 23 Carrefour stores are located in Bangkok
area and 7 in upcountry..
Hypermarkets : choice and quality for everyone
Faithful to the concept of �everything-under-one-roof�, Carrefour hypermarkets offer
an average surface area of 8,400 sq.m filled with a range of between 20,000 and
80,000 food and non-food items, all at extremely attractive prices. Located in the
center of broad catchment areas, they will often be important drivers of traffic
in the area around them. Carrefour hypermarkets combine choice, quality, innovation
and modernity with the best prices around and a pleasurable buying experience.

Using local suppliers also helps to integrate Carrefour into the local economic
and social fabric. All suppliers are expected to comply with the Group�s social
responsibility guidelines.

Government
Our business operation always complies with the Thai law. Carrefour pays tax 100%
to the Central Revenue Department in Bangkok and also pay local tax.
Supporting OTOP Activity
Carrefour Stores nationwide has played an important role to support OTOP Project
as additional distribution channel and showroom to display the skill and beauty
of typical Thai Products in every corner of Thailand. The OTOP producers are able
to employ the space in shopping mall area to present their handicrafts ceramic,
hand made cloth and food. Carrefour regularly coordinated with the provincial to
organize OTOP fair in Carrefour stores. Around 50-100 OTOP producers joined Carrefour
in each store in during 15 days period. About Carrefour�s OTOP campaign, Carrefour
has been supporting domestic products since 2001 and the scheme has been successful
with the high exporting rate each year. We are proud of the success as well as our
ability to contribute to society. OTOP products are available on Carrefour�s shelves
nationwide.
Exporting Thai Products to International Market
Carrefour Sourcing Division was established in Thailand since year 2000 and played
the role of exporters for Thai products to international market since then.
During the past 5 years of supporting role for export industry, more than 30 suppliers
of food products and 24 manufacturers of nonfood products such as handicraft, shoes,
flower that are able to widen their market to international scale with Carrefour.
For food industry, Carrefour Quality Line Mangoes has been exported weekly basis
to Singapore market.
With network of Carrefour stores in more than 30 countries worldwide, the opportunity
of local manufacturers in Thailand is more broaden. The major markets for exporting
food products from Thailand are Europe and Asia while nonfood products are demanded
in Latin America.
From year 2000, Carrefour opened the market for Thai products to every corner of
the world and brightened the fame of skill and destination of food manufacturing
at international scale.
In year 2005, more than 420 million baht of income have been generated
for local manufacturers through Carrefour network worldwide

Omkoi Project
Carrefour, with the coordination of Her Royal Highness Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn's
Office, has provided financial support totaling 15 million baht to "The Educational
Development Project for the Hilltribes Children and Youth" in Omkoi Districts,
Chiangmai Province.
Over the first two years of the project (Year 2001-2002), Carrefour's support has
helped the hill tribes at 24 villages in Omkoi District develop their own learning
centers for their children. In the second phase of project period ( Year 2003-2004)
another 25 of learning centers was renovated as well as equipped by all necessary
educational tools and facilities & utilities. The general public is able to
participate in this project through contributions at donation booths at all Carrefour
stores throughout the country. With donations of more than 6 million baht, the generosity
and kindness from our customers is readily apparent.

Thailand. Baan Nam Kem is one of the major damaged areas in Takuapa District, Pangnga

Blanket Donation
In winter, Thailand, especially the upper part of the country, is covered by intense
high pressure system from China resulting in very cold weather. Unfortunate people
in rural and remote areas have reported sick with the cold weather and some are
dead due to lack of proper protection against the cold weather. |

- Donation of 3,000 blankets worth at 360,000 baht to cold-weather victims in Chiang
Rai Province.
- Donation of 2,000 blankets worth at 240,000 baht to cold-weather victims in Loei
Province.
Carrefour executive team had been on the donation roadshow to present blankets to
the victims in Chiang Rai and Loei on January 6, 2007 and January 11, 2007 with
Ministry of Commerce team. |
